Walter Beasley is widely regarded as the highest selling/recording artist in modern history. An award-winning alto and soprano saxophonist, singer, composer, and producer, he is the founder and CEO of Affable Publishing and Affable Records. Walter dedicated 35 years of his life to teaching at Berklee College of Music and continues to share his expertise through online classes and engaging short lessons on social media.
A passionate musician from a young age, Walter began performing with the band Los Elegantes at just 13 years old. Since 1987, he has released an impressive 26 albums and remains among the top 10 best-selling African American saxophonists globally, a title he has held since 1998. His accolades include being named Billboard’s Smooth Jazz Artist of the Year in 2019 and winning the Soul Tracks’ Instrumentalist of the Year award in 2023. In addition to his musical achievements, he has released several educational DVDs and authored four books.
In 2023, Walter embarked on a nationwide tour for the first time in five years, taking a break previously to care for his parents. During this period, he also released a series of new music, including the singles "Déjà Vu," "Nice and Easy" (featuring Najee), "Lil’ Darlin’," and "Do You Wanna Dance" (featuring Rebecca Jade), alongside the album *Do You Wanna Dance*, the *Nice and Easy* cookbook, and the book *Performance Insight (for Musicians) Vol II*.
2024 was another landmark year for Walter, with the release of two new albums, “Live & Blessed” and “Tribute to Soul”, as well as his book “Quotes for Grown Folks”. Additionally, he re-released his albums “Go With The Flow” and “Backatcha!”
In 2025, Walter will make a significant artistic leap with the release of his first Spanish-language album, “Sin Palabras”, accompanied by two new singles, "Abur Paisano" and "Lazy Afternoon (Kenny's Groove)," both released in February. He is also exploring new musical landscapes by launching an ambient music channel on YouTube called “The Bleu Zone Ambient Improv”.
Throughout his extensive career, Walter Beasley remains a beacon of inspiration and a role model for many, particularly the younger generations eager to follow in his footsteps. His unwavering dedication to music and education continues to resonate with audiences across the globe.
