As a journeyman musician from Brooklyn\, NY\, he’s shared the stage with Dickie Betts\, Johnny Winter\, Robin Trower\, The Outlaws\, Cyndi Lauper\, Stuff (featuring Steve Gadd)\, and recorded original songs for Roulette Records. \nAs bandleader and regional guitarist in South Florida\, Jeff Prine has provided musical backing for local blues legends like Joey Gilmore\, Juanita Dixon and the late Big Mama Blue. During his two year stint helming the house band at Cheers\, Jeff played with Albert Collins\, Coco Montoya\, Buddy Miles\, Kim Simmonds\, Dave Mason\, Rick Derringer and Steve Morse. Recently\, The Jeff Prine Group has opened for Matt Schofield\, Shemika Copeland and was the featured guitarists for Ike Stubblefield. \nAs a recording artist\, Jeff’s latest CD release of original music Currents ranges from rocking traditional blues to atmospheric instrumentals\, all laced through with his crystalline tone and dexterious picking. Refreshingly committed to six string values\, it is the mature work of a vital player\, a guitarist’s guitarist who excites audiences and can impress any fan of the real deal! Jeff is currently working on a new CD for release by late 2014. \nJeffrey Prine (no relation to John Prine) was born in 1954 in Brooklyn\, New York. He is one of nine children. Jeff’s father was an orchestra leader during the 1940’s through to the 1970’s. As a result\, the Prine household was very musical. In addition to Jeffrey\, two of his brothers became musicians. His elder brother\, Glenn\, started playing guitar in the early 1960’s. He introduced Jeff to the guitar. It was apparent that Jeff had an aptitude for playing. The music scene of the late 1960’s and early 1970’s provided a plethora of guitarists. During this period\, Jeff and his brothers saw many of these talented musicians. They frequented the Fillmore East and the Action House on numerous occasions. In 1971\, Jeff was awestruck when he saw Peter Green play with Fleetwood Mac. Jeff accounts this experience as the most inspirational and influential of his music development. The songwriter was born in western North Carolina placed in the midst of an eclectic music scene ranging from bluegrass to rock\, and beyond. Eventually all of his influences aligned to form his bluesy sound\, and he hit the road. Ross has played blues shows with notables such as Jimmy Thackery\, and Kim Wilson of the Fabulous Thunderbirds. He also shared the stage with legend Buddy Guy. There’s no doubt his style of musical soul searching will allure listeners.\nLet’s not forget the driving pulse of the band\, Patrick Gaynor. Growing up in New York\, he was constantly pulled in by the hypnotic southern sound of the Allman Brothers. A sound which lures listeners in on songs like “Fools Gold” off of their album titled “Glenhead Station”. Patrick eventually moved south to find a band that could satisfy his blues cravings.\nThe Ross Osteen Band is fully anchored by the distinct force of Andy Bishop on bass. Andy is a multi-instrumentalist and owner/operator of Giraffe Studio for many years. He is the perfect complement to this power trio\, and his contribution really heightens the music.\nSince the Ross Osteen Band started in 2014\, they have played a number of shows from Georgia to New York to Chicago\, with a very memorable appearance with Buddy Guy on one of their songs titled “Hold Back”. DESCRIPTION:With six albums in the last eight years \, Cru is slated to release his Tas Cru Band LIVE in 2024. This album showcases his 2024 tour band performing his fan’s top-ten requested songs. To no surprise\, these fan-fed songs are all rough and tumble. Gone are the frills of a studio album. The band just gives each song a best go\, kicking down the fences – cage-free – loose\, loud and proud! Cru is a well-seasoned performer and entertainer. He knows how to read an audience. By intuition\, Cru adjusts his sets on the fly to make sure he reaches them. While this is a skill acquired from years of performing\, having a repertoire of well over 100 original songs to draw on certainly gives him a leg up on most others. Indeed\, above all else Tas Cru is a songwriter. “He is a real writer\,” says Bruce Iglauer – owner/producer of the renowned Alligator Records. High praise comes from Downbeat magazine\, describing Cru as one of the most unique of roots musicians plying his trade today; “With fresh melodies and his trademark well-crafted lyrics\, Cru has the ability to cast a magical hook.” According to Tas\, himself\, “I insist that words serve more than to treat the listener like a hitch-hiker desperate to reach the guitar solo!” Tas Cru – always original and where the songs matter\, lyrics speak\, and melodies thrive! Cru is most known as a blues artist but his songs show that he is truly a roots music eclectic who refuses to be bound to any one genre. Based out of Central New York he performs in multiple formats ranging from a six-piece backing band to solo acoustic. He sings and plays a wide variety of guitars – at home on either electric\, acoustic\, resonator or cigar box and is known to sprinkle in a bit of harmonica from time to time. Tas made his mark in the blues world as the founder and host of his Tas Cru Annual Rum Boogie Jam (2008 – 2023) at the Blues Foundation’s International Blues Challenge in Memphis Today\, Tas tours extensively throughout the US and international touring includes Europe and Canada. Tas is a Delaney Guitars (Austin TX) endorsed artist and is signed to Subcat Records\, Syracuse NY. DESCRIPTION:The Nighthawks bring decades of varied experience to the stage and studio. Paul Bell has played in many influential bands around the Nation’s Capital and is the consummate D.C. guitarist\, capable of soul scratching or country picking. Paul was less familiar with the classic Robert Lockwood/Louis Myers styles of Chicago blues playing than some of his predecessors\, but it didn’t take long for him to add those to his bag of tricks. When he plays a slow blues solo\, you can hear a little of late D.C. picker Roy Buchanan\, but without the tortured hysterics. Paul spent 10 years working with legendary blue-eyed soul man and keyboardist Tommy Lepson\, who subbed for Mark Wenner on a number of dates this year while Mark recovered from open-heart surgery. \nJohnny Castle started his D.C. career with Crank\, popular early hard-rockers who opened for Jimi Hendrix. He spent journeyman time with Eddie and Martha Adcock in the heyday of D.C. Bluegrass\, mixing comfortably with legends such as Bill Monroe and Ralph Stanley at festivals. After a stint with funk in an outfit called Spatz\, he came through Tex Rabinowitz’s Bad Boys at the height of the Rockabilly revival\, splitting off to form the psycho-billy band Switchblade. In 1984\, Mark Wenner developed a repertoire of material with Switchblade and together they recorded Mark’s Fugitive – a project that mixed hard rocking country classics with electric blues instrumentation (think Kentucky Headhunters). Live versions of some of those tunes can be heard on Mark’s compilation\, Runs Good\, Needs Paint. Before joining the Nighthawks\, Johnny spent a decade recording and touring with diesel-billy legend Bill Kirchen. \nMark Stutso spent nearly two decades with former Nighthawk Jimmy Thackery. Before that he played in a number of big and small-time rock bands\, including Ruffryder – a spin-off of Black Oak Arkansas – and Virginia Beach-based Trix. Originally from deep in West Virginia and Southwest Virginia\, Mark put in five years in the coal mines before escaping into his drum kit. He lives in Pittsburgh and has collaborated with the late Glenn Pavone and Norman Nardini.
